Lily took a moment after the event to speak with Kwame. He was delighted to have spearheaded an event that promoted family literacy. Kwame is also Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Zora Neale Hurston/Richard Wright foundation. His literary works include --The Kwame Alexander Papers, a collection of his writings, correspondence, and other professional and personal documents are held at the George Washington University Gelman Library. Lily like best what Nikki Giovanni said about him, "He's truly a renaissance man" —That sums it up.
